What is BT Vision?

BT Vision (Vision) is the new on demand digital tv service from well known telecommunications giant BT. There is over 70 channles of tv and radio available via Freeview and a host of premium, top quality, on demand entertainment featuring sport, kids, music, film and entertainment.

How Does BT Vision Work?

When you order BT Vision, you receive the V-Box. This box connects to your tv via your normal tv aerial in order to receive Freeview channels. Your V-Box also connects to your BT Broadband line to access the on demand films, music etc.

 

 

What Do I need to get BT Vision?

BT Broadband is required in order toget BT Vision. You can swtich from your current provider at the same time as ordering BT Vision by clicking here. You also need 2 electric sockets which powers the Set up Box (V-Box) and the BT Home Hub both of which must be located near the TV you wish to use for BT Vision.

With the SCART cable (supplied) you simply connect this to the TV and also the TV aerial socket. Tihs is required so you can watch Freeview and take advantage of the Personal Video Recorder (PVR). Do I need a BT Phone Line to get BT Vision?

To qualify for BT Vision you need a regular BT phone line and the broadband service from BT called BT Total Broadband with at least the 2Mb line speed. You can order

How will BT Vision be installed?

Once you have completed your online order you will official notification from BT to arrange a convenient time for installation from one of the qualified engineers. You can of course choose to install BT Vision yourself via the “Self Install Pack” which is easy and hassle free.

Can I watch BT Vision on more than one TV?

Yes. If you are not utilising the HDMI socket on your TV then the V-Box has 2 SCART outputs, one Coaxial RF Out and the S-Video output of which all can be used to watch BT Vision on up to 4 televisions in your house.
If you are using your HDMI connection then a splitter is required. These can be purchased from most electrical retailers. Please bear in mind that if you use your HDMI connection then the other outputs will be disabled.

HD TV Service on BT Vision

From August 2008 BT Vision will be utilising HD technology and providing its customers with HD (High Definition) service along with brilliant Dolby 5.1 surround sound. HD Programme content is firstly downloaded onto the V-Box before being able to be watched. All V-Box’s will need to be updated via a firmware upgrade for this service and prices are expected be announced in Summer/Autumn 2008.
